| Many people, collectors and dealers alike, continually asked when Ritzenhoff would dedicate a collection of glasses to wine. But the question always remained: in what way could Ritzenhoff and Sieger Design interpret the topic of wine within the successful concept of decorated glasses? As in no other drink, the colour of wine is very important. The way it sparkles in the glass may reveal a lot to the connoisseur about the particular wine's quality, age and taste. Sieger Design started by drawing a clear and elegant silhouette for both the red and white wine glasses, which represents the archetype of the traditional stemmed glass. They then invited artists, designers and creatives to interpret the grand topic of wine with a reference to history.
